LIGHTS UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE GRADUATION CEREMONY
Knoxville, TN- Bandit
Lites lit the University of Tennessee fall graduation
ceremony, which took place in late-December of last
year at the newly renovated Thompson-Boling Arena.
Lighting Designer,
Shawn Beaulieu chose to use Martin MAC 2000 Profiles
and Performances, MAC 600s, and ETC Source Fours to
light the event. Lighting was controlled by a Whole
Hog II.
The primary lighting
objective was to highlight the brass band and procession.
Additionally, Martin MAC 2000 Performances were used
to provide an animated stage background. Custom glass
gobos with the UT logo were projected onto the center
screen. Beaulieu also added a water effect behind
the UT logo using animation wheels.
Large projection screens with live footage of the
event were added to either side of the stage.
Beaulieu, who has
recently toured with international superstars such
as The Moody Blues and Ben Harper, commented, “It’s
always fun to get the opportunity to light local events
in between tours.”
